KOKRAJHAR, February 10: The SDO (Civil), Gossaigaon Amalendu Roy, vide order No AAP 19/2015/23, after the prelimiry enquiry report submitted by the Director of General of Vigilance and Anti Corruption, Assam into the allegations of serious anomalies in the relief camps set up in Gossaigaon subdivision of Kokrajhar district in the aftermath of violence in December, 2014, has been suspended.
Sources from Additiol Chief Secretary SC Das said the Government of Assam said the number of inmates of the relief camps were shown to be higher than the actual number of inmates which resulted in issue of higher quantities of relief materials to the camps than it was actually required. There was allegedly misuse of money with a view to misappropriate government fund by indulging in corrupt and dishonest practices.
Amalendu Roy, ACS who is SDO (Civil), Gossaigaon in Kokrajhar district was responsible for the administration of relief camps and distribution of relief materials in Gossaigaon subdivision. On the basis of prelimiry enquiry report, departmental proceeding has been initiated against Roy for departmental action.
