Shillong, Aug 31: Members of the State Development Reforms Commission (SDRC) comprising its chairman BR Sangma, Co-Chairman SR Marak, Members Dr FL Nonglait, SP Thapa and V Raj and Secretary FM Dopth, visited West Khasi Hills district on Wednesday and Thursday and held a meeting with the officers of the district, including Deputy Commissioner Arunkumar Kembhavi at the Conference Hall of DC’s Office at Nongstoin. Marak said the purpose of the visit is to take stock of various Centrally and State-sponsored schemes, projects and programmes being implemented in the district. The meeting also discussed the reasons behind backlog, grievances, problems being faced and defunct projects. The Commission discussed at length the various issues and activities performed by different departments and also interacted with the beneficiaries.
