SDRC reviews government schemes at Nongpoh

Shillong, Sept 19: State Development Reforms Commission (SDRC) members on Tuesday visited and held a review meeting with some government departments at the DRDA conference hall, Nongpoh.

The meetings deliberated on issues pertaining to district offices like budget provision of current fincial year, functioning, programmes and activities of the different government offices in the district, State and Central schemes being taken up by various departments, Act and rules implemented while executing of different schemes and projects, etc.

The commission also took note of the problems face by the officers and assured them to intimate the government of the difficulties faced by them and propose rectifications, if any. Suggestions were also made to the head of the district offices during the meeting while dealing with the scheme and projects for the success in the implementation and the overall benefit of the people of the district.

Each department gave a presentation of their schemes followed by interactions and suggestions by the commission.

The SDRC members included Co-chairman Sengman R Marak, Co-chairman Suraj Prakash Thapa, non-official member Dr Fenela Lyngdoh Nonglait and Member Secretary FM Dopth. Field visit and inspection of some of the schemes implemented by various district offices is part of the programme.
