SDRF helps in clearing debris

Shillong, Sept 4: Personnel of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) helped the Public Works Department and Forest Department in clearing debris brought in by a mudslip at Ryndang Briew near Umiam. The torrential downpour of the past two days effected the mudslip that brought down mud and slush, besides uprooted trees, from the hilltop adjacent to the tiol highway and blocked the traffic on Sunday evening. However, timely help by the SDRF helped in restoring the highway and traffic resumed later in the night.
