Seat belt for 4-wheelers, helmets for bike riders made compulsory

GAON (HAIBORGAON), May 16: Seat belt for four wheelers and helmets for bike rider has been compulsory in gaon with immediate effect for safe drive. Simultaneously, double parking, especially from Panigaon Chariali to Nowgong College police point, has also been prohibited by gaon traffic branch to ease traffic congestion in the greater part of the town.

In an interaction with this correspondent, newly appointed officer-in charge of gaon Traffic Branch, Dhiren Kakati on Tuesday stated that it was made mandatory for all only to decrease the risks in road mishap and to ease traffic congestion in the busy areas of the town. He stated further that those who would violate the directives, the police would impose pelty around Rs 300 to Rs 500. He even stated that to pick up the vehicles from double parking, the traffic branch had already taken initiatives to procure sophisticated modern lifting machines and special wheel locks to entrap those illegal parked vehicles in the town and these sophisticated machines and locks would be available in gaon within a couple of days.
