SEBA yet to be free from government interference, alleges AASU

GAURISAGAR, June 17: The Hatighuli Regiol Unit of AASU on Saturday felicitated 20 meritorious students  who passed  with flying colours in the recently declared HSLC and HS examition  in greater Hatighuli area. In this connection, a meeting was held in the auditorium of Durlav Chandra Gogoi Jakaichuk HS School, Charing.
The meeting was chaired by Girindra Kumar Gogoi, Principal of the school. The dignitaries who attended the function included Sarat Hazarika, education secretary of AASU, Hemonta Kumar th, subject teacher, Gaurisagar HSII, Kuladhar Borah, subject teacher, Khamukh HS School, Prafulla Gogoi, president, Hatighuli Gaon Panchayat, and others.
Addressing the meeting as a invited guest Sarat Hazarika said that the foundation of higher education was primary education. But the foundation of primary education in Assam was not good. He expressed his resentment that more than 2 lakh students were uble to pass the HSLC examition this year. He also criticized the Board of Secondary Education (SEBA). As an autonomous body, SEBA is yet to be free from government intervention, he lamented. In the meeting a total of 20 meritorious students were felicitated by AASU Hatighuli  Regiol Unit.
