TINSUKIA, Sept 21: The Tinsukia Additiol District Magistrate, Prabjit Kakoty by an order promulgated 144 Cr P.C in the entire district and imposed restriction on manufacture, sale, distribution and the use of virgin or recycled plastic carry bags and container as per Rule (4) of the Plastic Manufactures and Usage Rules 1999 with immediate effect and will be in force till further order, stated a DIPR press release.

The release added that no person will manufacture, sale, stock or distribute carry bags which do not conform to minimum thickness of 50 microns and prohibited throwing or dumping non-biodegradable plastic and plastic products into drain, streams, river, water bodies and roadside ditch in Tinsukia district. Any violation of the prohibitory order will invite action u/s 188 IPC, the release stated.
