From a Correspondent
JORHAT, June 19: Section 144 has been imposed along the NH-37, i.e., from Jakholabondha to Bokakhat and areas near Numaligarh from June 18 until further order, informed Dhiraj Das, the subdivisiol officer, Bokakhat subdivision on Monday. The subdivisiol officer said like the previous years, this year too section 144 had been imposed along the Kaziranga tiol Park (KNP) for free and easy movement of the endangered species of KNP during the monsoon season as the water level of the Brahmaputra and Difloo is on the rise. When most of KNP gets submerged under water, the animals try to cross the NH-37 to high lands and hill tops of Karbi Anglong. Vehicles need to control their speed to 30 km per hour on the NH-37 between KNP and Karbi Anglong. “We are also preparing to issue time card and checks at various points within the tiol park area,” he said.
Meanwhile, heavily loaded trucks have been prohibited to park beside NH-37 between Bokakhat of Golaghat district and Jakholabondha of gaon district. So every vehicle owner, public or private from the State or outside, has been urged to control their speed limit for which police along with KNP security personnel will strictly monitor until further order, said Dhiraj Das, the ADC-cum-SDO civil, Bokakhat.
