TANGLA, Jan 15: The Udalguri district received its second Ayush yoga centre out of the three allotted Ayush yoga centres. The centre was iugurated at Mazbat revenue circle office on Saturday. Iugurating the yoga centre, Mazbat MLA Charan Boro appreciated the goodwill move of the government to popularize the ancient Indian health practice.
The District Nodal Officer of Ayush, Dr Rabin Deka outlined the importance of yoga and prayama in everyday life of people and its inherent value. The iugural ceremony was attended by Circle Officer of Mazbat Revenue Circle, Dhriti Kr. Das, Block Programme Officer of NHM, Pankaj Sabhapandit of Mazbat mini PHC among others.
Kumud Haloi and Sulekha Basumatary, the two yoga experts were assigned to impart yoga training at Mazbat yoga centre. The Bhergaon yoga centre will be iugurated soon after Magh Bihu, the District Nodal Officer of Ayush informed. State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma iugurated 100 such yoga centres across the State via video conferencing on December 19, 2017, last out of which Udalguri district was allotted three yoga centres.
