Second edition of Ja Prashashan in Majuli today

GARAMUR, Dec 26: The district administration of Majuli will organize the 2nd edition of Ja Prashashan in Ratanpur Miri GP on Tuesday. The innovative field programme by the district administration will be carried out at the Pub Majuli Kherkota High School field from 8 am onwards on Tuesday, stated a press release.

 A team headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Majuli, Pallav Gopal Jha and consisting of the heads of 12 major departments and bank officials, along with other top officials from the district administration, will take part in the programme and listen to the problems of the area from the villagers. Top officials of the district will also try to solve the problems and grievances of the local people on the spot.

The departments included in the programme are Revenue and Disaster Magement, Health, Agriculture, Agriculture Engineering, Veteriry and Animal Husbandry, Social Welfare, Education, Public Health Engineering, Fishery, Food & Civil Supplies, District Industry & Commerce Centre, APDCL and banking institutions. In this programme, the officials from APDCL Majuli subdivision Station will address the complaints related to electricity and also review the progress of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yoja (DDUGJY) in Ratanpur Miri Gaon Panchayat. During the Ja Prashashan, the health department will arrange a medical camp there and provide free medicine to the villagers. Similarly, Veteriry department will organize a health camp for animals and treat the animals of the area suffering from FMD. In the programme, Agriculture department will assess the present agriculture activities and interact with local farmers on latest farming practices as well as problems faced by them. As part of the programme, bank officials will assess the need based requirement of loans for implementation of various government subsidized schemes in the particular Panchayat area. They will also organize awareness programme on cashless transaction.

The Ja Prashashan programme is aimed to reach the people residing in far areas from the district head quarter, Garamur. The Deputy Commissioner of Majuli, Pallav Gopal Jha has taken this initiative to bring the administration at the doorsteps of village people, so that the poor people living in these remote, far areas can also be covered and benefitted by the development process.
