Second Phase of Gunotsav concludes in Udalguri

UDALGURI, Oct 13:  The four daylong second phase of Gunotsav for the primary and upper primary schools conducted by Assam government concluded here on Friday. Gunotsav is a quality enhancement initiative of the State for bringing about improvement in learning level of students at elementary level. Conservator of Forest of Assam Dibyadhar Gogoi,  as an exterl evaluator of Gunotsav in Udalguri H S School has conducted evaluation of the students on English and Assamese reading and writing skills for Assamese medium students while on English and Bodo for Bodo medium students. Besides their numeracy skills, an evaluation through multiple choice questions on English, Social Science, General Science, General Mathematics, Hindi, Assamese and Bodo subjects were also done. Gogoi was assisted by Rewati Raman Sapkota, the Subject Teacher of Udalguri girls H S School as protocol assistant.

Puspadhar Bastola, the Principal of Udalguri HS School has welcomed the government’s initiatives to evaluate the whole elementary education in the State. Through the assessment and evaluation the needs and qualities of the schools, teachers, students and also the community involvement will come out and this will help the government to frame educatiol policy to improve the educatiol scerio in the state, he added.
