Second phase of randomization of EVMs done at Kamrup, Morigaon

AMINGAON/ MORIGAON, March 28: The second randomization of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for the 832 polling stations of the four LACs of Kamrup, mely, 48 Boko (SC), 49 Chaygaon, 50 Palasbari and 55 Hajo LAC was done today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup in presence of the General Observers Rajendra Ratnoo, D K Mishra and R Jain and District Election Officer Vinod Seshan, a press release stated. The second randomization was done for the 832 polling stations of the four LACs of Kamrup Election District before the representatives of the political parties and contesting candidates. It may be noted that during the first randomization on March 5 last the ballot and control units of the EVMs were randomized for the LACs.   Similarly, in Morigaon too the second randomization of the EVMs for the 659 polling stations of the three LACs of the district, mely, 79 Jagiroad, 80 Morigaon and 81 Laharighat was done today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner of Morigaon in presence of the General Observer for 79 Jagiroad (SC) LAC rain Lal Mee and the General Observer for 80 Morigaon LAC and 81 Laharighat LAC Vijay Pingale and District Election Officer Rakesh Kumar. The second randomisation was done for the 659 polling stations of the three LACs of Morigaon Eletion District before the representatives of the political parties. It may be noted that during the first randomisation on March 14 last the ballot and control units of the EVMs were randomised for the LACs.  The polling station wise randomisation of EVMs was done as follows: for 79 Jagiroad LAC 243 nos., for 80 Morigaon LAC 216 nos. and for 81 Laharighat LAC 200 nos. Besides these, additiol 20 percent EVMs are kept reserved for each LAC, a release said.
