Second phase of training of polling officials held at Abhayapuri

Abhayapuri, March 26: The second phase of training was held at Abhayapuri College, Abhayapuri by master-trainers regarding various steps to be taken by the polling officials on the polling day as well as on the counting day.

On Friday, a meeting was held by the General Observer, Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava with the in-charges of various cells of North Salmara Election District, Abhayapuri, stated a press release. The meeting was presided over by the DEO-cum-SDO (Civil) Saranga Pani Sharma. Other officers present in the meeting were DEO-cum- DC of Bongaigaon district, Biswajit Pegu, SP of Bongaigaon district, Sanjeev Krish In the meeting in-charges of Material cell, transport cell, food cell, media cell were also present, besides the sector and the zol officers of civil and police department.

General Observer Dr. Ashok Kumar Bhargava congratulated all the officials for their excellent work and appreciated their preparedness for the upcoming polling work. The Observer said that every cell should try to impart their best work and any problem should be reported immediately to the DEO of the election district. The DC of Bongaigaon district, Biswajit Pegu said that no law and order problem should arise in the district during polling day and if so immediate  steps would be taken to tackle it within 20 to 25 minutes.

After this, the AROs reported the situation under their jurisdiction. Kanta Das, Nodal officer of 35 Abhaypuri South (SC) LAC said that a lot of cash was seized under her jurisdiction and she had also taken strong steps to bring down some hoardings and boards.  The SP of Bongaigaon district, Sanjeev Krish gave a detailed report that there were 620 polling stations, 442 polling buildings and 14 very sensitive polling stations. He said that there were 10 flying squads and 10 static teams and about Rs 50 lakh had been seized till date and Bongaigaon held the third position in seizing cash.

The General Observer then asked the Media Cell in-charge to give reports of paid news on regular basis to the DEO of North Salmara and DEO of Bongaigaon district, including him.

Further he interacted with the master trainers and after this the DC said that every vehicle involved would come under expenditure monitoring.

The General Observer said that the officials should encourage the voters to vote and use their democratic right with full strength and confidence.
