Section 144 Cr.PC imposed in Chirang

KOKRAJHAR, August 14: In view of the prevailing law and order situation ahead of the Independence Day and as a precautiory measure, Chirang District Magistrate has imposed section 144 Cr. PC from Saturday in entire district prohibiting assembly of five or more persons, processions, rallies, carrying of sticks, sharp weapons, fire arms, pillion riding  until further order. However, this prohibitory order will not apply to magistrates on duty, police, army, paramilitary forces and genuine cases related to medical, water and electricity, said a DIPRO release.
