Section 144 Cr PC imposed in Udalguri

KALAIGAON, May 14: Udalguri Deputy Commissioner Sadha Hojai on Friday imposed section 144 of Code of Crimil Procedure with immediate effect throughout Udalguri district. In a press release it was stated that there was very likelihood of breach of peace and tranquility in the district of Udalguri in view of ensuring counting on May 19 as there have been reports of sporadic incident and violence. According to 144 Cr.PC, assembly of five or more in the public place including tiol highway is prohibited. Procession, demonstration, public meeting, dhar, rallies and gherao are also strictly prohibited. No one can carry and display arms. According to order, sale and stock of petroleum products in an uuthorized manner is also banned.
