Section 144 Cr PC imposed in WGH

Shillong, May 8: The District Magistrate, West Garo Hills Tura has promulgated an order under Section 144 Cr PC prohibiting individuals, communities and groups to post and share extremely sensitive and volatile messages on the social media like Facebook, Whatsapp and the like which are likely to incite violence amongst communities and may cause vexation, anxiety and fear in the minds of other persons and the public in general. The order will come into immediate effect and remain so until further orders, a press release stated.
