Section 144 CrPC imposed

SHILLONG, Sept 6: The Sub Divisiol Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub Division, Sohra has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting all heavy vehicles (trucks and lorries) carrying goods and stones more than the permissible weight, a press release stated. The order has been passed in view of the reports received that goods and stone laden heavy vehicles plying via the Umjapuh Bridge daily are carrying load exceeding the permissible weight of nine. The order will come into force with immediate effect up to a period of 6 (six) month or until further orders.
