Section 144 CrPC imposed along Bangladesh border in Dhubri district

DHUBRI, May 9: Apprehending the breach of peace and also to prevent trans-border smuggling of cattle and other goods, illegal migration of Bangladeshi tiols and intruding of anti-tiol elements, Dhubri district magistrate, Dhiraj Choudhury imposed Section 144 CrPC on Tuesday, prohibiting movement of civilians within a belt of 500 metres from Bangladesh Intertiol Border from 8 pm to 5 am in the district. Further, the order stated that transaction of business in the haat and bazar and shops that fall within the belt of 500 metres, while grazing of cattle within 300 metres from the border have also been prohibited from 7 pm to 5 am. However, security forces have been exempted from the purview of the prohibition, the order stated.
