Section 144 CrPC imposed in border area in Dhubri

DHUBRI, July 9:  Dhubri Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Executive Magistrate zrul  Islam  on Thursday imposed section 144 of Code of Crimil Procedure with immediate effect throughout the Indo-Bangla and inter-State border area of Dhubi district.

In a press release issued by DIPRO Bikash Sarma, it was stated that to curb  smuggling of cattle  head  and essential commodities  to Bangladesh  and to stop infiltration of foreigners  and ultras into Assam, district administration has imposed  section 144 Cr.P.C  according to which no one can do any act of going and coming in border areas within a distance of one km. from the border after  6 pm to 5 am except magistrate, security personnel and customs officials.
