Shillong, April 19: Due to the strengthening and improvement of the road from Bholaganj to Nongjri including construction of major bridge over the Wahrew river at Tharia under NLCPR, the Sub-Divisiol Magistrate, Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Sohra has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting any dumping of quarry waste near the project site and restricting movement of truck (heavy vehicles) carrying load more than nine tons for a period of two months. The order is necessitated following the information received from the General Mager for P&R Infraproject Ltd. Tharia Bridge, that quarry owners/miners who were operating near the project site are dumping quarry wastes into the drain excavated for free flow of water which has caused water logging at the areas and damaged the pavement of road by over flow of water and thereby obstructed the completion period. This order shall come into force with immediate effect until further orders.
