Section 144 CrPC promulgated

Shillong, May 9: The Additiol Deputy Commissioner in charge Pynursla Civil Sub- Division, Pynursla has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting any person, organization, etc. from indulging in, or resorting to, the act of poisoning of rivers, streams or any other water bodies with the explicit or implicit intention to cause wide spread/large scale destruction of aquatic life within the Sub-Division. The order has been passed in view that large scale poisoning of rivers, streams and other water bodies is taking place within the Sub-Division and that the use of chemical and biological substances upon water bodies has resulted in large scale extermition of fishes and other aquatic organisms.
