Section 144 CrPC promulgated in Dibrugarh district

DIBRUGARH, MARCH 11: Keeping recent law-and-order situation and to maintain peace and harmony in the district in view, the Additiol District Magistrate of Dibrugarh has promulgated prohibitory order under section 144   Cr.P.C.

The order has banned assembly of five or more persons in public places,  holding of public meeting ,procession, hunger strike, burning effigies, construction of martyr dome, carrying of arms and ammunition, machete and sticks, training of arms and sticks in public places, road blockade ,collection of dotion, act to encourage commul tension, raising of anti- tiol and anti-racial slogans, use of loud speakers from 10 pm to 6 am in the vicinity of hospital, court and educatiol institutions,  throwing of colour, or crackers on transport, passerby and public places.

The order also prohibited wearing of olive green dresses and use of black glass in car, pillion riding, and wearing of full mask helmet. However, the ban on pillion riding is not applicable for jourlists, lawyers, doctors, government officials, school going children and 60 year- old persons. Schools, markets, religious institutions, cinema halls, educatiol institutions, rail station, bus stand, airport, marriage and religious functions are kept outside the purview of prohibitory order.

The order was promulgated on March 10 in the entire district for two months. Violation of order in any form will be punished under section 188 Indian Pel code.
