Section 144 of CrPC promulgated

Dibrugarh, March 28: Section 144 of CrPC has been promulgated, and has been put into immediate effect, by the District Magistrate in a bid to maintain law and order here. Under this, restrictions have been imposed on certain activities including the assemblage of 5 or more persons in a public place, causing disruption to the transportation system as a result of mass gathering in public places, hunger strike, agitation, blockade, procession and all forms of extortion.
