Security beefed up for PM's visit

Itagar, February 19: Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in Aruchal Pradesh capital in view of Prime Minister rendra Modi's visit tomorrow to attend the 29th Statehood Day here at Indira Gandhi Park.

The Capital district administration has pressed its entire arsel for ensuring foolproof security measures, Capital SP Seiju P Kuruvilla said.

Beside state police forces, CRPF, IRBn have been engaged for security while ka have been established in all the vulnerable points. Round the clock patrolling has been launched in the state capital while all the vehicles were being thoroughly checked at entry points and several pockets of state capital, the SP added.

The capital police also issued traffic advisory for the commuters while carrying of lethal weapons, tobacco products in the venue has been banned.

Modi will iugurate the three day 'Festival of Aruchal' which will be on till February 22.

The Prime Minister will also flag-off the harlagun to New Delhi AC Express Train on the same day besides iugurating the Itagar Water Supply Scheme. He will also lay the foundation for Strengthening of Power Transmission and Distribution System in Aruchal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, all preparations for the Statehood Day celebrations have been completed.

In order to review the preparations, Chief Minister bam Tuki accompanied by cabinet ministers, president, APCC, Padi Richo and high level government officials on Wednesday inspected the preparations at the venue, an official communiqué informed.

Apart from preparation for the PM's visit, attractions for general masses have also been lined up. A Food village with 107 food stalls and another 120 stalls of exhibition has also been put up.

Rendition of local rituals, Sufi and Bhakti music will also be the main attraction of this year's celebration which will be complemented by performances of Tetseo Sisters, Yesterdrive, Immortals, Alobo ga & The Band, and several others.

To mark the celebration, a marathon race- 'Run for Vision 2030' with the motto 'Together we will do it' is also being scheduled on February 21next.

The race will start from Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, harlagun and will finish here at IG Park, Itagar. The fil match for Chief Minister's Trophy Men's Football will be kicked off at Rajiv Ganhi Stadium, harlagun on the first day of the 'Festival of Aruchal'.
