Security beefed up in Dibrugarh ahead of Prime Minister's visit

Dibrugarh, February 4: The much hyped tiol Chemical Unit,   known as Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL)  at Lepetkata in Dibrugarh district, after a gap of long 36 years will be  dedicated  to the tion by Prime Minister rendra Modi on Friday. The mega project is the outcome of the sacrifices of 855 martyrs during the Assam Agitation.

The arrangements for the iugural ceremony of the mammoth project, estimated to be constructed on an estimated expenditure of Rs 10,000 crores, have been completed with security levels being stiffened in and around the venue and other strategic points. The officials of tiol Security Guards have already chalked out security strategy to counter any threats. The administration, BCPL authorities including the telecom department too are gearing up for the iuguration to be carried out successfully, and the media too are prepared to make the coverage a thriving one. Chief General Mager MK Seth who has taken charge recently, has been stationed in Dibrugarh and supervised the services as offered by BSNL.

Meanwhile, hotlines were setup at Mohonbari Airport, BCPL campus and Moran under BSNL Dibrugarh Circle. The employees and staff of the BSNL have been working day and night to make the Prime Minister’s programme a grand success.

Meanwhile, a team of tiol Security Guards (NSG) has visited the premises of BCPL to ascertain and take stock of the protection and security measures of the Prime Minister’s programme. Moreover, the venue where the PM is slated to address a BJP workers’ convention, has been shrouded under the umbrella of police, paramilitary, CRPF and Army who are keeping a tight vigil in the district with alertness and watch on all the vital strategic points. In other words, the entire district   is under the cover of a security blanket.
