Itanagar, April 18: In a major breakthrough, security forces in Arunachal Pradesh apprehended four cadres of the Eastern Naga National Group (ENNG) along with one over ground worker of the outfit from Miao town in Changlang district.

The Jairampur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of Dao Division conducted a successful operation in the town on Tuesday evening and apprehended the rebels along with the over ground worker, Defence spokesman Col Chiranjeet Konwer informed.

Among the arrested cadres, two were identified as self-styled Major Thaimong Mossang and Awang Hodung.

Acting on specific intelligence input about presence of the cadres who were trying to terrorize and carryout recruitment activities in the town, the battalion swiftly launched an operation and cordoned off the suspected location. On being challenged the cadres tried to flee but the troops showed tremendous presence of mind and overpowered them after chasing.
