Bongaigaon, March 3: Indian Army and police apprehended one over ground worker of the NDFB (S) in a joint operation. An army official said that based on specific inputs, the 5th Garhwal Rifles, under the aegis of Agia brigade of the Red Horns Division, and Assam Police launched a searched operation on the night of February 28 which continued till March 1 afternoon in village Kusumdisha no.2 in Khungring area of Chirang district. “The team cordoned off the area and started a search operation in some residences suspected to have given shelter to any NDFB(S) militant. During the search, one over ground NDFB(S) worker, identified as Nondosing Muchahary, son of Binondo Muchahary, was apprehended. One 0.22 pistol with five live ammunition was recovered from the individual. He was allegedly supplying ration and other important items to agricultural secretary Binod Muchahary alias Batha of the NDFB(S) outfit,” an Army official said.
