Security forces illumite remote village

ITAGAR, Jan 27: The Republic Day fervor and zeal was evident during the myriad events organized by security forces deployed in the Patkai Hills of Aruchal Pradesh as the Longding Battalion of Assam Rifles distributed solar lights to 60 households of Chatting Village in Longding district.
Chatting is one of the remote villages in the district.
The battalion also organised an interaction programme with ex serviceman, Gorkha Boards and Civil Administration. In a related event, the Changlang battalion of Assam Rifles also conducted a medical camp in Changlang to provide medical aid and relief to villagers of New Shallang, Old Changlang, Laktong, Kuchep, Kenghu, Chokdok and surrounding villages, a defence communiqué informed here today.
The camp provided necessary medical aid and relief to 162 patients of these villages. The patients were provided free medicines and medical consultation. A health awareness education class was also conducted by medical officer and staff of medical platoon of the battalion.
The elaborate security arrangements ensured that the events were conducted incident free. The people of South Aruchal Pradesh have appreciated the role played by the Armed Forces in maintaining peace and helping civil administration in the area, the communiqué added.
