Security forces launch operation in Kanubari

Joysagar, Feb 6:  The Indian Army and CRPF have launched joint operation from Tuesday night in and around Kanubari Tea Estate area. Suspected ULFA (I) and NSCN militants allegedly opened fire some days ago in the tea estate and also lobbed a handmade grede in the tea garden office. In both incidents, two employees received minor injuries. Kanubari Tea Estate is located along the Assam- galand border under Charaidew district. Various militants frequently create law-and-order situation to frighten the local people in the border areas. Security sources revealed that a group of about 20-25 militants have been seen moving in the border areas and to apprehend them, the security forces have launched the operation.
