Security Week 2016 concludes at Guwahati Refinery

Guwahati, Dec 20: Guwahati Refinery observed “Security Week from Dec 13 to 19, 2016” and the concluding ceremony was held at GR Training Centre on Dec 19, where Pradeep Kumar, an IPS officer of 1984 batch Assam-Meghalaya cadre and presently Director General of Civil Defense and Commandant General of Home Guards, Assam as the Chief Guest, stressed upon the essential need for security compliance throughout the year. He shared upon the three essential components of the triad towards an effective security, viz. intelligence, local populace and interl security, represented by IB, Noonmati PS and CISF, respectively. Kumar also stressed upon the need for effective and vigilant security at oil installations. Jogen Barpujari, Executive Director of Guwahati Refinery, thanked all the concerned security forces and agencies like CISF, homeguards, Assam Police and intelligence agencies for their dedicated services towards ensuring an incident free security ambience at the Refinery.

Anja Baruah Sarmah, DGM(Admin, CC & CSR), gave a short overview of theparticipative security awareness generation activities, viz. security pledge, online quiz & suggestion scheme for employees, security gadgets exhibition and IED detection & terrorist neutralization mock drills by CISF sniffer dogs and CISF’s quick reaction teams, quiz competition for security personnel and contractual workers, including fraterl volleyball match played out between Home-Guards & CISF personnel.
