Seeds distributed among farmers at Lakhipur

Silchar, Nov 27: Varieties of seeds were distributed among the farmers of Lakhipur sub-division at Chiripool on Saturday at 11 in the morning. The seeds were distributed by Thombi Singha, SDO Agriculture, Lakhipur. Seeds were distributed under the scheme of Rashtriya Krishi Bikash Yojya. Lentil seeds were distributed among 375 farmers, peas among 250 farmers and 1125 farmers were given mustard seeds. November is the ripe month for cultivation of these seeds. If farmers use old cow dung, there would be increase in their productivity.

Thombi Singha advised farmers to work hard and cultivate these seeds nicely so as to enjoy the fruits. Farmers came from Pailapool, Dighlibahadur, Deewan, Joypur-Langlachara, Rupaibali Singerbond, Binkandie and other places. The meeting was attended by Panchayat representative and block’s AP president, Binodini Devi. She also advised the farmers to use these seeds and produce as much as possible as this month is the ripest of all.

 Among others who spoke at the meeting included, Archa Mora, GP president, Dighlibahadur, Hazira Begum, GP president, Singerbond and Mohammed, GP president, Pailopool and also Panchayat representative. Among others present at the meeting included Papri Das, and Agricultural Extension Assistants (AEAs) Keshab Ranjan Acharjee, Ajoy Roy, Satyajit Dey, Kumardeep Barman, N Shanti Singha. Thombi Singha has directed AEAs to see whether the seeds are being used or not.
