Seeds distributed among farmers in border areas

KOKRAJHAR, Jan 18: A special agriculture seeds distribution program was organized at Saralpara and Dadgiri BOPs covering 14 villages under AOR of 16th Bn. SSB on Tuesday for Rs 25,000 to 180 farmers of border areas.

AKC Singh, Commandant of the 16th Bn.SSB welcomed the chief guest, special guests and all farmers and requested to improve economy through agriculture products and better marketing as to have all round development  economy, education, road, health, transport,  employment etc. Dipu Bhuya, Agriculture Development officer, BTC Kokrajhar, chief guest briefed to all farmers on various methods of seeds  cabbage, cauliflower, brinjal, knol khol, lady finger, tomato and bottle ground. Types of soil, manure, organic farming and seasons and how to protect from various vegetable diseases and medicines to be used also highlighted and motivated to the poor farmers. He also further requested the farmers to contact him over phone and visit his office to get advice of agriculture.

Daimary, AEO, BTC also delivered lecture on various types of rice, it’s products and preventive measures of diseases in the area. rzary, AEA, Basumatary, AEA, BTC, Kokrajhar also delivered about orange crops, betel nuts etc. The farmers appreciate SSB for organizing distribution of agriculture seeds and delivering lectures by agriculture experts in the remote areas.

Virender Kumar Verma, 2i/c 16th Bn. SSB conveyed thanks to SSB, farmers and the officers from the agriculture office of BTC for getting opportunity to attend the program and going together for the benefit of the border people. The distribution of 7 different types of vegetables seeds brinjal, tomato,  cabbage,  cauliflower, bottle ground and  lady finger will help in improving the motto of SSB service, sacrifice and brotherhood.
