Seeds distributed among farmers in West Karbi Anglong

Kheroni, November 20: A seed distribution ceremony was held at Kheroni  Large Seize Mechanical Farm (LSMF) on Friday organized by Hamren Agriculture Subdivision KAAC, under West Karbi Anglong district.

Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) CEM Tuliram Ronghang  was the chief guest of the distribution ceremony. Ronghang in speech said, “We are organizing Kishan Mela in each of the 26 MAC constituencies for benefit of the farmers where subsidy schemes were distributed. No other government earlier in Karbi Anglong district has done such a thing but the Congress government is working for development of farmers.”

Mangal Sing Timung, i/c Agriculture, Executive Member of  Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council,  in his speech said that Rs 5 crore would be given for Kheroni LSMF for the construction of boundary wall and for Tumpreng Seed Nursery. Mustard seeds and potato seeds were distributed during the ceremony at the LSMF farm premise. Mahesh Rajbonshi, District Agriculture Officer of Karbi Anglong district,  and Hrithik Kemprai,  Subdivisiol  Agriculture Officer of Hamren  VDC Chairman of Kopili constituency were also present in the ceremony.
