Seemanta Cheta Mancha Purvottar celebrates Raksha Bandhan

GOHPUR, Aug 8: Dr. Kamala Kanta Saharia, State president, Partha Pratim Das, State general secretary and Biswarup th, State publicity secretary of Seemanta Cheta Mancha Purvottar, Assam said that Seemanta Cheta Mancha Purvottar, a State wing of Seemanta Cheta Mancha, celebrated Raksha Bandhan with all the soldiers detailed at different BOPs of the intertiol borders of Assam.

There are total eight districts, four each are attached to the Indo-Bhutan border and Indo-Bangladesh border respectively. Altogether, in as many as 60 BOPs of Bhutan border and 90 BOPs of Bangladesh border, Raksha Bandhan was celebrated.

 The central committee of the organization also showed its solidarity with the soldiers by organizing the event at the headquarters of Assam Rifles, Seema Sashastra Bal, Central Reserve Police Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Border Security Force and Assam Police, Indian Army , Tezpur  army camp. The prime objective was to send a message to the whole world that the security personnel on duty in the borders were not alone. Further, the reason behind celebration of the occasion was also to make the common people in general and the residents of the borders in particular sensitized about the issues relating to the problems arising from such vulnerable areas.

 Altogether 1,500 volunteers of the State simultaneously worked together and tied rakhi to as many as 18,000 soldiers. In turn, soldiers also did not stop just by offering sweets and presents to their sisters but also sang and danced together to make the occasion a memorable one.
