ITAGAR, July 25: The Government Higher Secondary School Seijosa lying in the foothills of East Kameng district has been running shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff, causing enormous hardship to the students of the locality and distant feeder schools.

“The school is deprived of vice principal since August 2011 and senior economics and chemistry teacher since March 2013 and April 2015 respectively while, the junior teachers of PCM and Hindi are to retire by September this year, ZPM Pani Tayam lamented in a press release today.  “The senior mathematics teacher is on maternity leave since June 16 last, whereas the school has no junior teacher for PCB, English, music and social science. One post of each LDC and peon is lying vacant since 2010, whereas the UDC is on commuted leave since February this year,” he added.

Referring to the miserable condition of the school, Tayam along with SMC and PRI members of Seijosa, Dissing Paso and Pakke-Kessang circles has appealed the concerned department to provide the school with the needed staff for interest of the student community.

The ZPM also appealed the All Nyishi Student Union (ANSU) and All East Kameng student Union (AEKSU) to lake active part in solving the grave situation so that the students of the lone higher Secondary school could achieve better education.
