Self-certification of documents

SHILLONG, June 12:The Government of Meghalaya has decided to adopt the provision of self-certification of documents like mark sheet, birth certificate etc., for the purpose of admission in schools and colleges within the State and for candidates applying for State sponsored seats in Engineering/Medical/Veteriry and Agriculture Colleges. This was informed by the Under Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Personnel & Administrative Reforms Cell. The origil documents will however be required to be produced by the applicants for verification at the fil stage. The Under Secretary has also warned that if any candidate falsely certifies documents, they are liable to be crimilly prosecuted in a court of law.
