Semir held on inclusive education

DULIAJAN, August 21: An induction programme on ‘Regiol action for inclusive education-Northeast’ was organized recently at the Mriljyoti Rehabilitation Centre in association with Bethany Society, Shillong where the project director, Bibhudutta Sahu and coorditor Sweet Syiemiong of RAISE NE gave a practical knowledge and an insight on inclusive education to the teachers and staff of Mriljyoti Rehabilitation Centre through various activities. The project director and the coorditor of RAISE-NE discussed crucial issues of administration, fince and key teachers’ development. The RAISE-NE will be implementing SSA in five States -Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, galand, Manipur.The uniqueness of this project is that it focuses on education rather than on disability, developing of inclusive education modules, adaptation not substitution and calibrated CREs. In this programme, the executive member Dr Bimal  Sarmah talked about changing the attitude of teachers, parents and the society. Moreover, another member Mitanjali Lahkar raised the issue of bridging the gap of teachers teaching children with disabilities and without disabilities.
