Semir held to mark Dr Kalam's death anniversary

Golaghat , July 27: The first death anniversary of former President , scientist and Bharat Rat Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was observed in Golaghat on Wednesday. The Golaghat district administration organized a semir on the occasion at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. To make students aware of Dr  Kalam’s view on tion building and tiol security was the objective of the semir. Before starting the semir, tributes were paid to the ‘Missile Man’, ‘People’s President’. District Development Commissioner Khanindra Choudhry presided over the meeting. ADC Soram Khanikar, Assistant Commissioners Bedanga Talukder, Rumi Saikia and Border Magistrate Orpah Baglary attended the semir as distinguished guests . The semir was conducted by renowned scientist, retired professor of Botany, Dr Padmeswar Gogoi . Bhaskarjyoti Baruah , Assistant Professor , Department of Physics from  DR College Golaghat and Jayanta Paul, Subject Teacher from Jawahar vodaya Vidyalaya , Chintoli were the two resource persons invited to deliver speech and discuss on the topic of the semir. Around 20 school students from different schools took part in the semir. A short video on astrout Mike Frinc produced by Aryabhatta Science Centre was shown to encourage students. Dr Padmeswar Gogoi along with the other two resource persons gave valuable suggestions to the students.
