Semir highlights sports jourlism as viable career option

Bongaigaon, Aug 29: A semir on sports jourlism was held on Tuesday in Greater Bongaigaon Press Club premises. The semir was organized by Assam Sports Jourlists’ Association in association with State Level Advisory Committee (Student and Youth Welfare) of the Government of Assam, and the Greater Bongaigaon Press Club of Bongaigaon. Bidyut Kalita, secretary, Assam Sports Jourlists’ Association, said that they had conducted this semir to make the public aware about sport jourlism which could be a medium for skill development for human resources of Assam. “Sports jourlism is in demand as a profession in the present times. But people of Assam are not much aware about it. Our intention is to make people aware about it,” he said.

The semir had been formally iugurated by Ranjit Sarma, senior jourlist of Bongaigaon. The semir was conducted by senior jourlist Sujit Ray. Several noted persons, including Bidyut Kalita and others attended the semir. Total 49 participants took part in this semir.
