Semir on digital tion dream and tribes in India held

KOKRAJHAR, Feb 17: A tiol semir on ‘Dream for Digital tion and Tribes in India’ was held at Jangkhrithai Fwthar, Kokrajhar on the occasion of golden jubilee celebration -cum -annual conference of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU).

The auspicious event of ABSU in its foundation day the semir was organized in collaboration with NEDAN Foundation, an NGO working to protect children and women in the BTC region. The semir was chaired by Dr Sangrang Brahma, Librarian, CIT and the resource persons that enlighten the session were Robert Ewers (Advisor, Child Aid Network, Germany), Momee Pegu (Program associate, Child Aid Network, Germany) and Niry John Chetry (founder of Marg, Darjeeling).

The semir started with felicitation of guest followed by welcoming the participants by the chairperson of the session Robert Ewers and Momee Pegu.

Robert mentioned Value, Pedagogy, Content and Technology as the four aspects of education as lifelong learning process. Elaborating all the aspects with examples, Robert focused his speech in active learning through technology innovation. He shared the various tools applied in education system to acquire quality education from distance locations with the help of modern technology like distance learning, self-driven learning, e-learning, mobile learning and digital student tracking.

Dr Sangrang added that technology should be used for the best utilization in a positive way in learning. He mentioned the development of his mobile application CITK e-Library which is developed for deriving e-Resource for learning.

Niry John Chetry said that technology has both good and bad aspects which can be helpful and at the same time can be misused.  “It depends upon peoples will to utilize technology like internet, mobile phone positively in an innovative way,” he said.

He further added that while applying technological skills the base should be cleared so that they can involve technology actively in their work.

Sikhw Brahma from NEDAN Foundation spoke about the incorporation of Bulk SMS system and Long code SMS system which will help in receiving and sharing information at the field level to protect children from various forms of vulnerabilities. He also said on the importance of internet service provider like wistech, and software on school magement like istaed.
