Semir on human rights education held

NONGSTOIN, Sept 2: Political Science Department of Tirot Sing Memorial College, Mairang on Friday organized a one-day semir on “Human Rights, Education with special reference to the Youth Today”, at the College Auditorium. Daniel Stone L Nonglait, Advocate of Supreme Court, Monitoring Officer Northeast (LEGAL), Special Cell Delhi Police, graced the occasion as the chief guest. While addressing the semir, Daniel said, “Human rights are the basic rights and freedoms that belong to every person in the world, from birth until death, and no one can survive without Human Rights”. The semir also discussed the legal rights, rights against exploitation, social discrimition, cyber war versus cyber world and the concept of equality of human beings as embodied in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948. The semir was also attended by Dr. P.R Lyngdoh, Principal of Tirot Sing Memorial College besides the students and teachers of the College.
