Semir on intellectual traditions held

Shillong, Feb 20:  Meghalaya Governor V Shanmugathan on Saturday iugurated the tiol Semir on ‘Intellectual Traditions of the Northeast: Its Influences and Impact’ at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) here. The two-day semir is being organized by the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla in collaboration with EFLU, Shillong. The Governor in his speech reminded the gathering about the richness and diversity of India in general, and the North Eastern region in particular.  He also urged the scholars and intellectuals to explore and undertake thorough researches on popular figures of the region including U Soso Tham, Sankardev and other figures whose lives and works have had a great influence on the people of the region.
