Semir on medicil plants

Itagar, Nov 01: A one-day semir cum poster presentation on medicil plants of Aruchal Pradesh was organized by Institutiol Biotech Hub, in association with the Department of Botany, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat in East Siang district on Tuesday.

Resource Person, Dr T S Mehra, Associate Professor, CHF-CAU, Pasighat, presented a paper on cultivation of medicil plants in Aruchal Pradesh.

Another resource person, Y Jamoh Lego, the leading folk-herbalist of the state and a tiol awardee in her field, also presented a stimulating paper on local herbal medicines. During technical session, six research papers were presented by the students, while in the poster gallery, students presented 25 posters on detailed scientific research on medicil plants.

The programme provided the students of Botany to get first-hand information on local medicil plants outside their usual classroom learning from expert resource persons. The programme was attended by Principal of the college, Dr Milorai Modi and Vice Principal Dr S D Choudhury, an official report informed here today.
