Semir on Xankardev's bhao at Gaurisagar

GAURISAGAR, December 3: Khamukh Badminton Club recently organized a three-day Bhao Samaroh at Sri Sri Sankardev Krishti Kala Kendra here.

The first day programme started with hoisting of flag by Arun Jyoti Gogoi, president of the Reception Committee followed by Smriti Tarpan performed by Mitha Ram Gogoi, Vice Principal, Khamukh H.S. School.

Baloram Bora iugurated Bhao Samarooh. Dhitaipukhuri Purbaronga tya Gosthi, Sivasagar performed Nri Singha Murari bhao. On the second day Tridip tya Gosthi from Duliajan performed Daikshya Yaj bhao and Monikanchan tya Gosthi from Jorhat performed Kurmma Avatar bhao.

On the concluding day, a symposium was held on the topic Sankardevor at Bhao-Parampara Aru Parivartan (The Sankardeva at Bho –Tradition and its Changes). Dr. Manjit Gogoi, Principal, Jhanji Hem th Sarmah College conducted the symposium.

Dr Anil Saikia, former Principal of Moran College and Rajib Borah, Associate Professor of zira College graced the symposium as the appointed speakers.

Addressing the gathering Dr Saikia said 550 years ago bhao had fulfilled the demand of entertainment and bhaktis of people. He also opined that change is inevitable. “With the passage of time our life and tradition have been changed’, he said.

The symposium was formally iugurated by Rupan Chandra Gogoi, retired Principal of Khamukh HS School.

A souvenir ‘Kapidhawaj’ edited by Partha Pratim Gogoi and James Borah, published on the occasion, was released by Dr.Manjit Gogoi.

In the evening the artiste of Khamukh Badminton club performed Matsya Avatar Chari Veda Uddhar and Jorhat Dohotia tya Gosthi performed Raja Hori Chandra Bhao.
