Semir organised at Modern English School

 Guwahati, Aug 28:  Modern English School, Kahilipara on Sunday organized a semir on the relevance and importance of schools in today’s time. The title of the semir was,  ‘Do schools Matter in our Children’s path towards excellence?.’ The semir was conducted on the lines of role of schools and education with teachers, parents and educationists.  

 Director of Modern School Pankaj Das said, “Education is not about explation. Classroom education is not only the fundamental source of learning. In today’s world, everyone can mage to get admission in good schools or mage through private tuitions. However, are schools really providing the ‘learning and education’ that they are supposed to provide?” He particularly focused on the part whether classroom explation are really needed in providing the learning that students aspire to get.
The semir focused on the role of teachers, schools and parents in framing the life and career of a student. More than career, how these people prepare the child for the life that he is going to live in midst of a diverse crowd of other people. “Schools definitely matter. But it is now important to make sure that every student is prepared not only for his career or professiol life, but most importantly for becoming responsible citizens of the country, said  Former Chairperson SEBA Shantikam Hazarika. Speaking on the cultural aspect of schools, Father Joseph Thelekkatt of Assam Don Bosco University pointed out, “A toxic environment is very harmful for children. It is very important that the students get a healthy environment and culture whenever they are in schools or at home.” This was stated in a press release.
