Semsonsing Engti remembered

KHERONI, Feb 28: The 67th death anniversary of Semsonsing Engti, the founder and chief architect of modern Karbi Anglong, was observed by BJP Kapili Constituency Committee in their office premises at Kheroni on Saturday. Engti had envisioned a separate and significant political status for his tribe which many of his contemporaries felt impossible. But with dymism and courage he, as a reformer, paved way for the birth of Karbi society as a separate political entity. In the vast political are of the Indian democracy, there appeared a little maiden in the form of Karbi civilization of which Semsonsing Engti was the chief architect. At the meeting, BJP Kapili Constituency Committee Vice-President Baburam Rongphar, BJP Kapili Constituency Committee secretary Joybahadur Chouhan, invited guest Bhimkant Chouhan, and all members of BJP Kapili Constituency Committee were present.
