Senior citizens’ body to meet in Dibrugarh

Dibrugarh, Jan 31: The 7th bi-annual conference of Assam Rajyik Jyestha garik Sanmmelan (ARJNS) will held on February 12 under the auspices of Dibrugarh District Senior Citizen Association (Dibrugarh Zila Jyestha garik Sanmmelan) More than 300 delegates are expected to attend the conference. Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal, according to the president of the district unit, Dr Sristi Dhar Dutta, has consented to attend the conference as chief guest. ARJNS executive president  Mohan Buragohain will unfurl the association flag on the iugural day on February12 while Sunil Kumar Borthakur and Dr Tolon Saikia will offer homage to the martyrs.The Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University, Dr Alak Kumar Buragohain will iugurate the open meeting which will be attended by Lahowal MLA, Ritupar Baruah. Former president of Axam Xahitya Xabha, Dr gen Saikia will formally release the books while Dibrugarh MLA Prasanta Phukan will formally release the souvenir , informed DDSCA secretary Jayanta Kumar Sarmah.
