Senior jourlist Balen Bora passes away

GAON (HAIBORGAON), Oct 9: Senior jourlist of the district, Balen Bora on Monday noon passed away at his residence situated at gaon Ammulapatty due to a sudden critical disease. He was only 58 years old. He leaves behind two sons and his wife. Bora started his career as a photo jourlist from the district in 1985 and later on he worked as press correspondent in various newspapers published from Guwahati like Ajir Batori, Notun Dainik, Amar Asom and Dainik Asom. Till his death he was serving as a district correspondent in Dainik Asom. Simultaneously, Bora also worked as an editor in Kolongpar, an Assamese weekly published from the district. Moreover, Bora was the district president of All Assam Press Correspondents Union.  Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal and his media advisor Hrishikesh Goswami have condoled his demise. Various organizations like gaon Press Club, All Assam Jourlist Union, All Assam Press Correspondents’ Union, All Assam Working Jourlists’ Union, district units of AASU and AJYCP condoled his demise and also paid tribute to him at his residence.  The working president of All Assam Press Correspondents’ Union, Mousamjyoti Baishya and the president of All Assam Jourlist Union, Pankaj th also condoled his demise.
