Senior Women tiol Football C’ship (NE Zone) in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar, Dec 15: The 21st Senior Women’s tiol Football Championship (North East Zone) will be  held  at Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) ground here in Kokrajhar from December 18 to 23.

Talking to reporters at KDSA office today, Secretary of Assam Football Association (AFA) Ankur Dutta told that six team from Northeast - Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram,  Tripura and Aruchal Pradesh- will participate in the championship.

The team are divided into two groups. Assam, Meghalaya and Aruchal Pradesh are in group ‘A’, while  Manipur,  Mizoram, and Tripura are in Group-B. Two best two teams will qualify for the fil Championship be be held at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, where 10 teams, two from each zone  will play in the fil championship.

The Association also announced the mes of the players of Assam team.

The squad: Goal keeper-Anja Saikai(Jorhat), Sashma Kachap(Baksa), Stopper-Sewali Moran (Dibrugarh), Bhabani Kumar(Rangia), Sabi Kispota(Kokrajhar), Right Back- Barli Moran(Dibrugarh), Mi Basumatary (Kokrajhar), Left Back- Miniswrang Brahma(Kokrajhar), Rima Boro(Baksa), Mid-field- Sonia Marak(Karbi Anglong), Mamoni Karmakar(Dibrugarh), ProtiBasumatary(Kokrajhar),Ringkhangshri Boro(Rangia), Mili Borah(Jorhat), Kabita Wary(Kokrajhar), Forward- Maya Ramchiary(Kokrajhar), Ranju Moni Brahma (Kokrajhar), Sanila Basumatary(Baksa), Mridul Mech(Dibrugarh) and Dorothi Oreya(Dibrugarh).  Gita Ramoni of Dibrugarh is the team mager while Prab Basumatary of Kokrajhar is the Coach.

BTC executive member Sports and Youth Affairs Dhaneswar Goyary said they are ready to host the senior tiol women football championship. BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary is expected to be chief guest during the iugural ceremony.
