'Sensitive issues should be double checked before being published'

From a Correspondent

Joysagar, Jan 28: “Media should be conscious and should double check sensitive issues before publishing. The latest incident in Dima Hasao occurred solely after some media reports based on baseless information were published,” said Jorhat MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa while interacting with some media persons in Sivasagar. MP Tasa had visited Sivasagar on January 26 to take part in the Republic Day celebration in Sivasagar. Answering another question, MP Tasa again claimed that in Assam there were 1-2 media houses which believed only in sensation and gimmicks. “Assam has witnessed so many unwanted incidents because of media reports based on fake sources. These media reports provoke people. Irresponsible media houses are responsible for such incidents,” added Tasa. He also hoped that the situation in Dima Hasao would be normal soon. “The proposed galim territory will not disturb Assam’s territorial unity and Assam is safe,” he added.
